What is Barter-X?
Barter-X is a platform that lets people exchange items directly without buying or selling. It connects multiple users into exchange cycles so everyone gives one item and receives another.
How is this different from selling?
There is no money involved. You do not price your item or negotiate. You choose what you would accept in return.
Do I control what I receive?
Yes. You only receive items you have already selected. Nothing is assigned or forced.
What if I do not find a direct match?
You do not need a direct match. The system connects multiple users into exchange cycles.
When does an exchange happen?
An exchange happens when a valid cycle is formed and all users confirm pickup readiness.
What is escrow?
Escrow is a temporary deposit to ensure commitment from all participants. It is approximately equal to the resale value of the item you are offering.
Why is escrow required?
It ensures that once a cycle is formed, no one backs out and breaks the exchange.
What happens if someone backs out?
If a user backs out after confirming, their escrow is deducted. The exchange continues for others.
When is escrow returned?
Escrow is returned after the exchange is completed successfully.
